After pointing out the sketch in which Sarah Sherman wore extremely noticeable artificial teeth to portray a character intended to resemble Wood’s Chelsea, the actress said she “had apologies from ‘SNL'”.

Aimee Lou Wood, star of White Lotus, is not amused by Saturday Night Live’s parody of the HBO smash, which featured a mockery of her character Chelsea, played by Sarah Sherman, sporting conspicuous artificial teeth.

Wood commented in a series of Instagram Stories photos regarding the sketch that aired during Friday night’s program, “I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny,””Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago,” she wrote on another slide.

“Yes, take the piss for sure — that’s what the show is about — but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”

Various Trump family members and their political friends were shown in the sketch, “The White Potus,” as White Lotus-like figures.

While Chloe Fineman adopted Parker Posey’s show accent to portray Melania Trump, James Austin Johnson played a dejected President Donald Trump, similar to Jason Isaacs’ Timothy Ratliff.

In order to represent Lotus’ incestuous brothers, Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola), Mikey Day and former cast member Alex Moffat reprised their roles as Trump’s sons Don Jr. and Eric. Scarlett Johansson played Ivanka Trump, forgoing a life of meditation like Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook).

Sherman, as the only nonpolitical character in the sketch, was paired with Jon Hamm playing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. but dressed like Walton Goggins‘ Rick, the beau of Wood’s Chelsea on season 3 of the drama series.

On a another slide, Wood wrote, “On a positive note, everyone is agreeing with me about it, so I’m glad I said something instead of going in on myself,” following her earlier declaration of “imposter syndrome.”

The English actress continued by sharing some of the fan comments regarding the sketch, stating that there were “thousands.” “Correct,” she responded in response to someone who pointed out that “everyone else in that parody was a political figure who was being mocked.”

Chelsea was the only non-political figure, and they were obviously just making fun of your appearance.”
